dBarcode is a Windows utility which enables barcode images to be created and inserted into other Windows applications.
dBarcode images are normally created as Windows Metafiles. These are continuously scalable and maintain a high quality at any size. However, dBarcode can also create images in other graphics formats and save them as BMP, PCX etc. files. The 32-bit version of dBarcode will also create Enhanced Metafiles that behave differently to standard metafiles on resizing. (See the Notes on Metafiles section.)
While most barcodes are used as black bars on a white background, dBarcode does provide the option of selecting both foreground (bar) and background colours, and dBarcode can display the code text below the barcode using a font of your choice.
dBarcode may be used as a standalone program for creating barcode images (which can then be copied to the clipboard for pasting into other applications, or saved into files); the Professional version may also be used as an OLE server for OLE enabled applications.
dBarcode-2000 does NOT allow the dBarSaveImage method to be used via OLE for saving graphics in any format other than WMF.
Please note that before dBarcode Pro may be used as an OLE server it must be run at least once as a standalone program so that it can register itself with the Windows Registry.
