Barcode DeskToolbox for the barcode technicianBarcode desk includes tools that not only create barcode images and print barcode labels but also allows the technician to verify the final printed barcode by scanning the image using a quality flatbed scanner and then using Barcode Reporter to analyse the X dimension, gain, structure and check characters for GS1-13, GS1-8, GS1-128, UPC-A and UPC-E symbols as well as Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Codabar, and Interleaved 2 of 5 symbols. Barcode Desk contains four tools outlined in the sections below: [See also: System requirements Licensing Download trial ] Barcode ReporterBarcode Reporter is designed to test and verify a barcode printed on a package, carton, label or tag before the goods are shipped to your customers and to warn you of any potential problems. Barcode Reporter takes a high resolution image scanned from a flatbed scanner and analyses the bars and spaces to report on the barcode's quality and structure. Barcode Reporter is suitable for GS1-13, GS1-8, GS1-128, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Codabar, and Interleaved 2 of 5 symbols only. Barcode CreatorBarcode Creator creates images of most common 1D and 2D barcode types and can save them in BMP, EPS, JPEG, PNG, TIFF or WMF formats at a specified resolution ranging from 96 to 4800 dpi. Such images are commonly used for placing or importing into graphics design programs during the design of packaging. Label PrinterBarcode Desk Label Printer can print labels on any Windows-supported printer using data sources ranging from simple text files, though Microsoft Access or Excel source, to most ODBC database sources.
Byte ReporterBarcode Desk Byte Reporter takes input from a serial port barcode scanner (or a USB barcode scanner operating with a serial port emulator) and displays the byte pattern decoded by the scanner. Of particular value for test 2D symbols where non-ASCII text has been encoded. System RequirementsBarcode Desk requires Windows XP (service pack 2 or later), Windows Vista or Windows 7. In addition the following items are required for the components of Barcode Desk: Barcode Reporter requires a flatbed scanner for acquiring images of printed barcodes with an scanning resolution of at least 1200 dpi (2400 dpi recommended). Byte Reporter requires a barcode scanner with either a serial port interface or with a USB interface and a serial port emulator (serial port emulator drivers for many barcode scanner are available from the manufacturer's web site). The barcode types decodable by Byte Reporter are dependent on the scanner. Label Printer requires a Windows supported printer capable of printing graphics. We recommend laser or thermal printers with a resolution of at lease 300 dpi (600 dpi recommended). LicensingCurrently available with licence for use on a single computer.
