Upgrades

To upgrade an existing dLSoft product to the latest version you can download the current TestWare version and follow the instructions below.
Note that if you already own a product with an earlier major version number than the downloaded version, or a product purchased more than 12 months ago, then the downloaded version will behave as a TestWare version. In this case upgraded licence codes are required and may be purchased from your original supplier or from DL Technology.

If you have purchased a product within the last 12 months and after upgrading you find that the new version is behaving as testware, you may require a new serial number. To obtain a new serial number please e-mail us and specify the product name, your existing serial number, the name of dealer from whom you purchased the product and the purchase date. We will then send you a new serial number by e-mail.

If you wish to upgrade from an older product you can purchase a new serial number from our on-line store or any of our dealers, or by e-mail or fax to DL Technology.

Upgrade instructions.

1. Make a backup copy of your data files associated with your dLSoft product and ensure that you have your original installation CD or download and your original registration codes in case you need to revert to the existing version.

2. If the product is an application, install the downloaded TestWare version into the same directory as your existing version. Then run the application and check in the About box (on the Help menu) to ensure that your application is not running as a TestWare version. If the application runs as a testware version you can uninstall the testware version and reinstall the original version from the installation disks.

3. If the downloaded product is a single computer version of one of the developer's components or kits you are advised to install into a different directory from the existing product and test one of the test programs which come with the kits to ensure that the full and unscrambled barcodes are produced. TestWare versions of the components will produce defaced or scrambled barcodes. To restore your original version, uninstall the testware version and reinstall the original into its original directory. Note that the new Active DLLs in the version 7 developers kits have different names from the DLLs of previous versions.

4. If the downloaded product is a Developer/Redistributable version of one of the developer's components or kits you are advised to install into a different directory from the existing product. Check the README file to see if your serial number needs to be incorporated in your code and test one of the test programs which come with the kits to ensure that the full and unscrambled barcodes are produced. TestWare versions of the components will produce defaced or scrambled barcodes. To restore your original version, uninstall the testware version and reinstall the original into its original directory. Note that the new Active DLLs in the version 7 developers kits have different names from the DLLs of previous versions.

If your downloaded product behaves as a TestWare version then you need to purchase an upgraded licence.

All dLSoft products can be upgraded using the testware versions supplied on this site and activated with codes which can be supplied by fax or e-mail to credit card purchasers.
